I started an underground gallery in my loft space in Chicago around 1994 with both fine art and performance art shows. I found it difficult to devote the time necessary to focus on a contemporary art gallery's financial survival. One reason was I had to make art, and also make a living at my job as an art preparator and art restorationist. I also started a small web site company, www.nanosmith.net, which has artists and galleries as clients. These elements have given birth to this site.

I offer www.onlineartforsale.com as a resource network and online gallery space to promote these particular artists and their ideas, as well as offer their objects for sale in order to help these ideas evolve, spread and be funded. Galleries have been traditional outlets for the local public to see new ideas, and the Internet is now another type of gallery to bring these to the world.

Artists represented here are either personal acquaintances, friends or artists I believe in. I have developed and worked on developing my aesthetic through persistent study and exposure. I judge art with a strong background in the history of art, various cultures, ethnographics and originality. "Taste" is often what people believe they are brokering when they purchase art.
