Peter Kadyk image gallery

As a special project for www.peterkadyk.org, I (mike smith) have scanned images and created a page for a specific post card portfolio of Peter's which he created on his way to Chicago a while back. Peter, his brother Patrick, Jeff Fitz and myself had a artistic post card pen pal system worked up, and I have gotton many other postcards from Peter which I soon hope to post online.

Peter told me he created these to sell to make some travel money in Chicago. They came wrapped with string in a cardboard portfolio. Both sides of the portfolio were covered with red paper. Peter then drew some of his famous creatures on both sides of the "post card book". It is an incredible collection of eight post cards ranging from the sublime to the insane, the literal to the transcendental.

Each card is on thick cardstock paper, and framed in Duct Tape!

Peter Kadyk had a show of paintings at Chez Luis Gallery in 2001 for his Healing Ceremony Fundraiser. These works are up for sale from the estate in order to fund further outreach of Peter Kadyk's legacy.

These Paintings represent only a fragment of Peter's vast and emotional approach to painting. These particular works are all very large, and in watercolor. Very gestural, abstract, color-minded. He could be very fluid and draw with precision, or draw with an unkwown rage and intensity.
